Gratitude: Nathan Wallace

Updated: Jul 17

Born in Lebanon, Missouri, Nate's basketball journey began in Springfield, where he played for two high schools: New Covenant Academy and Christian Schools of Springfield. At Christian Schools of Springfield Nate's team had a remarkable senior year, boasting a record of 27-1, remaining undefeated at home, and clinching both state and conference titles.

After high school, Nate continued his basketball career at Barclay College, where the team made it to the Big Dance. At the end of the season Nate was awarded the team MVP as a freshman. However, tragedy struck the following year when Nate was involved in a serious car accident that left him with severe injuries and doctors telling him he would never play basketball again. Despite the setback, Nate's love for the game never waned, and he found himself drawn back to the court, albeit with a different perspective.

Realizing that he may never be the same player he once was, Nate embraced the opportunity to continue playing the game he loved. Now, at 44 years old, Nate still finds joy in playing basketball and plans to do so for as long as his body allows. The Crown the Kingz league has brought him immense personal fulfillment, offering him a college-like experience that was cut short by the accident. Nate is grateful for the opportunity to run the league alongside his close friend and brother, Laro Morinia. Together, they share a deep love for the game and are excited to see their league make waves in the New Mexico basketball scene.
